El Gran Podar : El Gran Podar is an annual festival celebrated in the city of La Paz, Bolivia. It is a 24 hour parade which moves along a circular route. This festival dates back hundreds of years. Similar to Mardi Gras, the social order is ceremonially reversed for the day. The ruling classes are gently mocked, and people from the working classes take to the main streets of La Paz for the day.
